Essence of Teaching

The school curriculum primarily emphasizes academic subjects and extra-curricular activities, often delivered through traditional teaching methods where teachers lecture and students passively listen. As a result, students become mere recipients of information, often encouraged to memorize textbooks rather than truly engage with the material.

True education empowers students to take ownership of their learning journey. Achieving this requires active collaboration between teachers and students.

While much is said about the 21st-century skills students need to excel and thrive in the future workforce, it is equally important to consider the 21st-century skills teachers must possess to cultivate "future-ready" students.

What makes you a successful TEACHER?

A teacher is not just a conveyor of information, but a mentor, role model, and motivator who plays a key role in the educational and personal development of their students.

A teacher is a subject matter expert, deeply knowledgeable in their field.

A teacher is an excellent communicator articulating ideas clearly and effectively to students, parents, and peers.

A teacher designs beautiful Lesson Plans that inspire students and fosters a classroom culture where students feel free to explore new ideas  through questioning and investigation and think creatively.

A teacher is well-prepared and well-planned, making the most of the time spent with students.

A teacher understands and appreciates cultural differences, and fosters an inclusive classroom environment ensuring all students have access to the resources and support they need to succeed.

A teacher is a visionary thinker who helps students see the broader picture and understand the impact of their learning on their future.

A teacher instils values such as honesty, respect, and responsibility in students.

A teacher is a lifelong learner, continually growing and evolving in their profession.

In today's world, many see teaching as a stop-gap solution or a job of last resort. As society changes and the world evolves, this view has to change too. The need for outstanding and passionate teachers is more significant than ever!!! I believe that teaching will soon become a sought-after career, drawing top talent like never before.

Wishing you all a Happy Teachers Day :)
